1. About LearnerZone

LearnerZone (https://learnerzone.com) is an independent educational website operated by Malcolm Swanson in Japan.

It provides online learning materials, activities, assessments, and communication tools for students and other learners.

LearnerZone is independently managed and is not an official website of Seinan Jo Gakuin University.

2. Information we collect

When you use LearnerZone, we may collect:

• Your name and email address

• Account and profile information

• Course enrolments and learning progress

• Assignment submissions, quiz results, and grades

• Messages and contributions to learning activities

• Technical information, including login records, IP addresses, and activity logs

We collect this information to operate the website and support educational activities.

3. Signing in with Google

LearnerZone allows users to sign in using a Google account.

When you choose Google sign-in, we receive basic account information, such as your name, email address, and Google account identifier, to identify you and manage your LearnerZone account.

LearnerZone does not receive your Google password.

Google sign-in does not give LearnerZone access to your Gmail messages, Google Drive files, or other private Google content.

4. How we use your information

We use personal information to:

• Provide access to courses and learning materials

• Record learning progress and assessment results

• Support communication between teachers and learners

LearnerZone uses DreamHost hosting services. Website data may be stored or processed outside Japan.

We use reasonable security measures, including encrypted HTTPS connections and access controls, to protect personal information.

However, no online service can guarantee absolute security.

7. Retention and deletion

Personal information is retained for as long as reasonably necessary to operate LearnerZone, support educational activities, and meet applicable obligations.

Information that is no longer needed may be deleted or anonymised.

Users may request access to, correction of, or deletion of their personal information. Some educational records may need to be retained for legitimate administrative purposes.

8. External services

LearnerZone uses Moodle learning management software and may use external services, including Google authentication.

3. Googleアカウントでのログイン

LearnerZoneでは、Googleアカウントを使ってログインできます。

LearnerZoneがGoogleアカウントのパスワードを取得することはありません。

また、Googleログインによって、Gmailのメール、Googleドライブのファイル、その他の非公開のGoogleデータにアクセスできるようになることはありません。

収集した個人情報は、以下の目的で利用します。

LearnerZoneはDreamHostのホスティングサービスを利用しています。データが日本国外で保存・処理される場合があります。

個人情報を保護するため、HTTPSによる通信の暗号化やアクセス権限の管理など、適切な安全対策を講じます。

ただし、インターネット上のサービスにおいて、完全な安全性を保証することはできません。

7. 情報の保存期間と削除

個人情報は、LearnerZoneの運営、教育活動の実施、必要な管理上の義務への対応に合理的に必要な期間、保存します。

不要になった情報は、削除または匿名化する場合があります。

利用者は、自分の個人情報の確認、訂正、削除を申し出ることができます。ただし、教育上または管理上の正当な理由により、一部の記録を保存する必要がある場合があります。

8. 外部サービスの利用

LearnerZoneは学習管理システムMoodleを使用しており、Google認証などの外部サービスを利用する場合があります。

これらのサービスでは、それぞれのプライバシーポリシーに従って情報が処理される場合があります。

LearnerZoneのサービス内容や個人情報の取り扱い方法に変更があった場合、このポリシーを更新することがあります。
